From beach destinations that are more commercialized to quite little getaways off the coast, the North Carolina coast is the perfect place to enjoy a vacation anytime of the year. Take a look at some of the top beaches in North Carolina and see which one you can picture yourself relaxing on your next vacation!

 

Carolina Beach

If you are looking for a beach trip filled with amusement park rides, mini golfing, and adventure, Carolina Beach is the perfect spot for you and your family. Located about 2.5 hours from the triangle area, Carolina Beach is located in Pleasure Island and runs along the Cape Fear River. While visiting, you can spend time walking along the boardwalk shopping and spending time at the amusement park, lounging and relaxing on the beach, visiting parks such as the Carolina Beach State Park and Freeman Park, and more!

 

Wrightsville Beach

Wrightsville Beach is a beautiful beach town located just a little under 2.5 hours away from the triangle!  While visiting, you can enjoy the beautiful beaches of Wrightsville enjoying the sunrise and soaking up the sun during the day. By night you can head on over to downtown Wilmington located just 20 minutes away from the beach and spend the evening strolling the streets of downtown visiting some of the many local restaurants. While visiting Wrightsville and Wilmington, you can also visit the infamous North Carolina Battleship, the Airlie Gardens, the North Carolina Aquarium at Fort and more! 

 

Topsail Beach

This quaint beach town located in Pender County is the perfect place to spend your beach getaway at. Spend a quiet day on the beach in the sun and maybe even travel into their small downtown to spend some time at their local restaurants, paddle board and kayak in the sounds, shop at some of their beach shops, and more! Topsail beach is just under 3 hours away from the triangle area and just about half an hour away from Sneads Ferry where you can adventure into another small town and visit more local treasures off the North Carolina coast!

 

Emerald Isle

Located on Bogue Island, part of North Carolina’s Crystal Coast, is where you can visit the wonderful beaches of Emerald Isle. Emerald Isle is located about 2.5 hours from the Triangle area and is filled with so many beautiful sights, sunrises, and sunsets. As well as spending a day relaxing on the beach and soaking up that North Carolina sunshine, you can visit the Bogue Inlet Pier to spend some time fishing, play an exciting game of disc golf, and hike some of the the North Carolina trails including many birding trails perfect for sightseeing and observing the stunning sights and sounds of the North Carolina coastline. 

 

The Outer Banks

The infamous Outer Banks is the perfect place to go if you want to experience a getaway centered around serenity. The Outer Banks is located a little over 3 hours from the triangle area and it is filled with many different barrier islands such as Carova,Corolla, and Knotts island, Bodie Island, Ocracoke Island, Hatteras Island, Roanoke Island, and more! Spend a day visiting the rich history of the Outer Banks, climbing some of the light houses, spending a day on the beach, visiting the famous Jockey Ridge Sand Dunes in Kitty Hawk, kayaking throughout the sound, and more!
